This Sustainability Report 2007 is the second sustainability report published by The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas). The report, published online for the first time, outlines our operations and performance using the triple-bottom-line approach on sustainable development. It serves as a communications platform between Towngas, our stakeholders and the community, providing information on our management philosophies and achievements, in our journey towards sustainable development.
Providing comprehensive information on our environmental, social and economic performance as well as our vision, policies, management and corporate governance strategies, the report also looks into the targets and future objectives of our businesses in Hong Kong and mainland China. Comprehensive details on our financial performance are available in our Annual Report 2007.
To provide a clear and balanced picture of our performance in 2007, we kept our channels of communication open, seeking the views of our diverse stakeholders. As such, where relevant, this report takes their comments and views into consideration. Also enhancing the report’s creditability, an independent verifier has examined its completeness, accuracy and reliability. This third-party verification, which includes the verifier’s opinion and views, is presented in the verification statement.
