Occupational Health and Safety
During the year, we enhanced our safety culture yet again, when, in addition to
being the first utility to sign Hong Kong’s Occupational Safety Charter in 1996, we
also became the first utility company in Hong Kong to receive our designation as
an International Safe Workplace (ISWP) under the framework of the World Health
Organisation’s Safety Community. Offered under the auspices of the Occupational
Health and Safety Council (OSHC) in Hong Kong, the programme consists of seven
ISWP indicators which strengthen safety practices while also fostering a safe and
happy workplace.
